Immediate Tax Deductible Donation
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation and receive a receipt for tax purposes, you can click on the “Donate” button below. You will land on our Donations page hosted by the Australian Community Foundation. Choose a once off or a recurrent donation. Donations can be made by credit card or direct debit. A receipt will be emailed to you immediately after. We will contact you after you donate to ask if you have a particular charity, or type of charity, in mind. Thank you for your support.
If you are donating via a Public Ancillary Fund (PAF) or other philanthropic vehicle, or your donation does not need to be tax deductible, it would be best to discuss your donation first. This is to ensure that we comply with all the governing conditions for your particular donation. Please email us on reception@noosa.foundation with a convenient phone number and perhaps some suitable times for us to contact you. Learn more about donating.
What Can I Donate To in Noosa
We offer a range of choices to best suit your preferences. Broadly, they lie in 3 groups:
- Specific charity of your choice. The ATO only allows us to donate to organisations that are for charitable purposes and have DGR1 registration. For example: schools, religious and political groups and sports groups are prohibited for the Noosa Foundation. If uncertain, contact us on reception@noosa.foundation for a consultation.
- One or more charities covering a particular range of activities. If you would like to support, for example, youth, environment etc, we can allocate your donation over local charities in the particular charitable Panel covering that area. We know the most active and needy groups so that your donation gives maximum advantage (MORE)
- Untied donations. Sometimes you might wish to contribute to the Noosa region but don’t mind particularly where your funds are used. We will allocate your money across the most needy and active charities on your behalf.
FAQs
Unless you otherwise direct, we will allocate your donations to needy groups within a year of donation. Generally, we make quarterly granting rounds. We only save money for the longer term when you direct us to; typically when you leave an endowment in your Will.
All Community Foundations operate under the supervision of relevant government departments. To assist us to comply with these regulations, which are meant to safeguard you and charities in general, we use the services of a specialist. Australian Community Foundation is a NFP that helps some 450 organisations comply with “best practice” for charitable Foundations like ours.
We always make sure the charities receiving your funds are needy and use the funds in a beneficial way. Charities are also required to report annually to the government’s Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC). You can learn more about them on the ACNC website.
One time donation is collected from you once. It can be by Credit Card or Direct Debit. A recurring donation allows you to contribute the same amount each period you select (e.g. a month) until your specified cancellation date. It can only be done by Direct Debit.
How you pay is up to you. If by Credit Card, payment is collected by Stripe. When you request a Direct Debit, you will need to provide a bank account that the money can be withdrawn from by the Australian Community Foundation.

Noosa Swimming Club
We need your help to support our athletes and coaches in the upcoming 2023/24 swimming season. Our community sporting club is hoping to attend various levels of competition, including regional, state, and national championships for both pool and open-water swimming. As a small club, it is a significant expense to fund our coaches to attend and support our athletes during these important competitions.
